More about Antonio Mandreucci:
A Story of Passion, Pizza, and the American Dream From the charming town of Carini, Sicily to the neighborhoods of New Jersey, Antonio Mandreucci’s journey is a testament to hard work, family values, and a relentless pursuit of the American Dream. At just 13 years old, Antonio arrived in Edison, NJ, alongside his mother to reunite with his father and brother. He enrolled in John Adams Middle School and later attended J.P. Stevens High School. But by the middle of 10th grade, he made a life-defining decision to leave school and dedicate himself to building a future through work. Antonio moved to Bordentown and took his first job as a pizza maker at Russo’s Pub in Mt. Holly. Meanwhile, his father and brother were laying the groundwork for Marcello’s Coal Fired Pizza in Bordentown. Not long after, Antonio joined them in opening Marcello’s Pizza in Lawnside, NJ — the family’s first major venture. With hands-on experience growing rapidly, Antonio became a partner in the Bordentown Marcello’s location. While running the restaurant, he pursued his high school equivalency diploma and went on to earn an associate’s degree from Burlington County College. While at Burlington, Antonio found powerful inspiration in Dr. Messina, the college’s president. Dr. Messina’s leadership and dedication to community service deeply impacted Antonio. He encouraged him to approach the restaurant business with discipline and purpose. Antonio took restaurant management courses, became a licensed health board practitioner, and contributed to setting new food safety standards for the state of New Jersey. Antonio also took over the kitchen at the college and cooked for students on several occasions. Alongside Mr. White, head of the culinary department, he led an annual initiative to feed the less fortunate on Thanksgiving Day — a program that ran for many successful years and was featured in the Burlington County Times. With his vision sharpened and his entrepreneurial spirit thriving, Antonio transferred to The College of New Jersey (then Trenton State College). It was there he realized his calling wasn’t in a classroom — it was in owning and operating great pizzerias. Together with his brother, Antonio launched several successful restaurants across New Jersey, including Marcello’s Pizza Grill in Hamilton, Pizza Grill in Freehold, Trenton Train Station, and Marcello's Trattoria in Hammonton. Later, he branched out on his own, naming locations based on their highway routes — Pizza 206, Pizza 130, Pizza 541, and Pizza 530. Antonio Mandreucci also founded Jobstown Pizza in Jobstown, NJ, Antonio’s Old World Pizza in Maple Shade, and Europa Pizza in Columbus, NJ. Through every challenge and triumph, Antonio remained grounded in what mattered most — family. Together with his wife Maria, he raised three children: Marica, Bianca, and Antonio Jr., instilling in them the same love for food, community, and tradition that brought a teenage boy from Sicily to the heart of American entrepreneurship. Today, Antonio Mandreucci is not just a restaurateur. He is a symbol of perseverance, passion, and purpose — proving that with family, faith, and a fire in your heart, anything is possible.
